Kristina Preuer ist Data Scientist bei Cubido. Ihr Schwerpunkt ist maschinelle Bilderkennung mit neuronalen Netzen und Deep Learning. Insbesondere bei industriellen Herstellungsprozessen in den Bereichen Automatisierungstechnik und Qualitätssicherung werden derzeit Systeme zur maschinellen Bilderkennung eingesetzt. Kristina hat nach ihrem Biochemie- und Bioinformatikstudium in Linz kürzlich ihr Doktoratsstudium am Institut für Machine Learning zum Thema Deep Learning in Drug Discovery erfolgreich abgeschlossen. In ihrer Dissertation hat sie sich mit Problemen im Deep Learning auseinandergesetzt, wie zum Beispiel der Integration von mehreren Datenquellen, die Interpretierbarkeit von Netzen und die Bewertung von Generativen Modellen. Durch die von Kristina durchgeführten Verbesserungen konnte der komplizierte Prozess von Drug Discovery erleichtert werden, da die trainierten Netze bessere Vorhersagen lieferten und neue Erkenntnisse und Einblicke ermöglichten. Diese Ergebnisse wurden mit Forschungsgruppen aus Cambridge und der Industrie erarbeitet und auch in Fachjournalen publiziert. Neben einer Vielzahl von Deep Learning Ansätzen setzte sich Kristina in ihrer Zeit am Institut auch mit anderen Machine Learning Algorithmen wie Random Forests, Gradient Boosting Machines und Support Vector Machines auseinander.
